Thonik solves eurocrisis

Thonik was asked to contribute to the Big News issue off Snacks, the Chinese visual arts magazine.
The Big News in 2011 was in Europe the eurocrisis. The EU asked China for help. Maybe the solution is a Eurasian Monetary Union. The Yeuroan as new money for the future. The exchange between East and West is an exchange in power balance. New money flows from East to West. But also new values. The West is learning from the East. 'The U is choosen as the new symbol because it is the only letter that is shared by 'euro' and 'yuan'. U stands for 'Universal' or 'uni'. Maybe it is a good idea to have one currency for the whole planet.
Exhibition Connecting Concepts in Designhuis Eindhoven

The travelling exhibition Connecting Concepts penetrates the surface of Dutch design to look at how ideas combine to create not only singular objects but also a singular design culture.
The 30 objects in the show have much to say about design concepts, processes and disciplinary cross-pollination in the Netherlands. Marcels Wanders' Knotted Chair, the Hello Fashion collection by Monique van der Heist the logo by rule for 010 publishers from thonik are three examples.

De nieuwe 3voor12 website draait meer om video en audio, is beter afspeelbaar op mobiel, gemakkelijker te delen en heeft een heldere indeling, dit alles met het doel om de beste muziek voor een zo groot mogelijk publiek toegankelijk te maken.
De website is gemaakt in de huistijl van VPRO en ontwikkeld onder supervisie van Thonik.
