Theatre is glamour, light, glitter and variety - concepts expressed to the full in the house style for the Stadsschouwburg Haarlem. This theatre, which reopened in 2008 after renovation, presents entertainment for a wide audience in a variety of genres. The block pattern in this style is derived from mosaic panels in the building itself. The pattern forms a flexible, graphic vocabulary that recurs in all communications media. The logo and running titles are laid over it and hence look different every time. Nevertheless in its totality this style is instantly recognizable. Thonik worked with the fashion designer Alexander van Slobbe on the staff's uniforms.
