Koninklijk Theater Carré

about

Identity, Visual Communication;
The renovation of the Royal Carré Theatre in Amsterdam, originally built as a circus venue, presented the ideal opportunity to overhaul the house style. The famous neon sign on the roof of the theatre was taken as the point of departure. These letters, in a modified form, were used for a new logo. A stylized five-pointed crown to illustrate the royal designation replaced the acute accent on the E. In 2011 the house style was rounded off with its own house style font, Oskar Carré Poster, designed by Paul van der Laan (Bold Monday). The font builds on the typography in the logo, which can now be used as an integral part of the text.
