Finding a suitable cover for the book commemorating the fifth anniversary of Amsterdam advertising agency KesselsKramer appeared almost impossible. Almost every project carried out by the agency, including iconic campaigns for mobile telephone company Ben, the newspaper Het Parool and fashion brand Diesel, were worthy of filling the book cover. Thonik finally solved the problem by designing not one, but fifty covers, presenting them as though they were in a catalogue. The book thus became a pastiche of the annual catalogue of the Fifty Best Designed Books, the annual Dutch competition for book design. Publisher: BIS publishers
